COMPUTE Regional Events (CRE)

We recently launched CREs (read the report on the first CRE at Ashoka University).

A COMPUTE Regional Event (CRE) is intended to build and strengthen the CS Educators and Researchers community in a particular region and connect them to the COMPUTE community. This is done by helping educators and researchers contribute papers and experience reports, and by participating in workshops and panel discussions.

A CRE also engage the community in addressing CS Education challenges that may be regional in nature (lack of internship opportunities, no role models or research groups for CSEd Research, etc.) and brings the broader COMPUTE community to help with them.

A typical CRE is a day event, preferably on a Saturday or a holiday, and is designed to be attended by CS faculty and CSEd educators residing in the nearby area (less than 90 minutes commute). We expect an audience of 25-30 so that the sessions can be informal but intense.

If you are interested in CS Education Research and Practices, and would like to connect with other community members, do plan to join the upcoming COMPUTE in December 2026 (COMPUTE 2026) and plan to attend a nearby CRE.

Stay in touch via WhatsApp or LinkedIn (iSIGCSE or ACM COMPUTE).
