COMPUTE 2025 Workshop Call for Proposals
We invite scholars, practitioners, and industry leaders to submit proposals for workshops at COMPUTE 2025. Workshops should align with the main conference themes and focus on current, impactful topics within computing education and related disciplines. We encourage sessions that are interactive and provide hands-on experiences, fostering active engagement among participants.
Workshop Objectives
- Engagement: Facilitate active participation through collaborative activities such as group discussions, design sessions, coding exercises, or data analysis tasks.
- Innovation: Introduce emerging ideas, methodologies, or technologies that can advance the field.
- Application: Provide practical insights and tools that attendees can apply in their professional contexts.
Workshop Duration
Workshops should be designed for a duration of 1.5 to 2 hours. The final schedule will be determined based on the overall conference program.
Proposal Submission Guidelines
Please include the following information in your workshop proposal:
- Title: A concise and descriptive title for the workshop.
- Organizers: Names, affiliations, and contact emails of all organizers.
- Abstract: A brief summary (150-200 words) outlining the workshop's focus and objectives.
- Detailed Description: An in-depth explanation covering:
- Background and Motivation: Context and relevance of the topic.
- Goals and Objectives: What the workshop aims to achieve.
- Format and Activities: Structure of the session, including interactive components and time allocation.
- Target Audience: Intended participants, including any prerequisite knowledge or skills.
- Logistical Requirements: Room setup, equipment, or materials needed.
- Previous Experience: Information on prior workshops organized by the proposers, if applicable.
- Additional Information: Any other pertinent details.

Evaluation Criteria
- Relevance: Alignment with conference themes and current trends in computing education and educational technology.
- Engagement: Incorporation of interactive and hands-on elements.
- Clarity and Quality: Well-defined objectives and a coherent session structure.
- Feasibility: Practicality of the proposed activities within the given timeframe and resources.

Workshop organizers are required to register for and attend the conference in person.
